A few pictures from today’s experience

So today rocked.  Seeing the baby, aka “Tony”, for the first time in person was pretty special.  I will admit, I got a little choked up when seeing the little one’s heart just pounding away.  It really was a “holy shit” moment for me.

As for the “Tony” reference, since we aren’t finding out the sex till the big day I wanted to give the baby a gender neutral name.

On to the pictures…

21 cm long

1.0 lbs

We saw both of the hands open, which according to the tech was a very good sign.  The heart rate was 146 bpm which falls into average territory.

And a couple more photos of Meg’s progression:

More photos from the ultrasound in the Gallery.

Thanks Penny! It was a lot of fun seeing the baby moving around and waving its little hand. At one point, the tech needed the baby to move, so he pushed down on my abdomen and the head moved away, but one little hand was just hanging on in place for dear life! Already a stubborn little thing!

Thanks everyone! It is definitely exciting!

Susan – my mom came from a family of all girls and then she had all girls, so the girl gene in my family is pretty formidable!
